UCD students participate in an international internship exchange and leadership program co-sponsored by the ICC with paid summer internships in science, engineering, computing, agriculture and environmental sciences. Costa Rica, Australia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Thailand and New Zealand --- combine volunteer projects from 2-8 weeks in length and ranging from plant and animal conservation to social community development with a 2 week outdoor adventure tour. Cost is program fee plus air fare. Attend one of the information sessions held hourly.

Spend summer 2009 in Japan serving as a mentor to youth ages 2-18 living in group settings similar to U.S. group homes. Expand your Japanese language skills, gain cross-cultural competency and make a positive impact on children. Interest in working with K-12 children and Japanese language proficiency are required.

Earn Your K-6 BCLAD Teaching Credential in Mexico

This program combines education coursework conducted in California and Mexico with cultural immersion and intensive language study in Mexico. Students who satisfactorily complete it receive the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with the Bilingual Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) emphasis from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. The program takes place in Queretaro, Mexico (3 hours outside of Mexico City) from late June 2009 through early August 2010. Finding & Funding Your Overseas Internship: Bixby International Internship Travel Grant Kick-Off!

How do you decide to intern abroad? How do you know which overseas program is best for you? How do you pay for it? Attend this workshop to help you answer these questions AND learn about the Bixby International Internship Travel Grant. In 2009 the ICC will administer $20,000 in international summer internship grants for currently enrolled UC Davis students interning abroad. Come learn more about how YOU can apply!
