IRE 192 Instructions

If you wish to receive units for an internship through the International Relations Program:

  1. Pick up IR's “Application for Academic Credit for IRE 192” and the Academic Senate's “Request for Approval of Internship for Academic Credit” from Katy Pattison, Academic Advisor, Room 1277, Social Sciences and Humanities Building. You must submit completed forms, along with a one-page final paper proposal, to Katy Pattison no later than 5 working days before the add deadline for the quarter in which you are planning to do the internship.
  2. The Director of International Relations will review your application and may ask you to revise your paper proposal. The Director has final decision-making authority about whether your IRE 192 application is approved or denied.
  3. Upon approval of your application and final paper proposal, you will be given a CRN and notified of the deadline for turning in your final paper.
  4. The internship must also be approved by the UC Davis Internship and Career Center through their Transcript Notation process. Set up a meeting with Connie Ayala or Estell Jones (2nd Floor of South Hall) to initiate Transcript Notation for your internship. This is a requirement for all IRE 192 students. Copies of the completed academic credit application forms (see point #1, above) must be submitted to the UC Davis Internship and Career Center.
  5. Turn in your final paper to Katy Pattison by the deadline. With your final paper, turn in a copy of the completed Supervisor Evaluation (part of Transcript Notation).
Note: To apply for academic credit for IRE 192, you must have upper division standing (90 units or more). The International Relations Program does not grant credit for lower division internships (92s).
